How fees work
Insurance we work with
Poise does not bill insurance plans. You pay the practice, and you can send your plan a receipt to ask for reimbursement. Dr. Gallegos does not bill Medicare or Medicaid; if you want a clinician who does, tell us and we will help you look. The dietitian partner's practice sets its own fees and decides which plans it bills.

Medicare and Medicaid are not billed
The dietitian's practice bills on its own
If you pay yourself
Dr. Gallegos gives you the fee for a session in writing before you book. A small number of reduced-fee times are held open each month; ask when you write. She asks for 24 hours' notice to move or cancel a session.

Receipts for reimbursement
At the end of each month you can have an itemized receipt, called a superbill, to send to your plan. It lists a diagnosis code, which your plan will see. Your plan decides whether it reimburses you, and how much.
An estimate in advance
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost before you start, and Poise gives you one in writing in advance. If a bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Checking your benefits
Before your first session Dr. Gallegos can go through your plan's out-of-network benefits with you and tell you what to ask your plan. She cannot promise what a plan will pay.
